Carestream Vue RIS wins EHR certification

Carestream Health's Vue RIS version 11 has been certified as a complete electronic health record (EHR) for stage 1 of meaningful use, the company announced.

Carestream received the certification on July 27 from the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT), an Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB).

Imaging centers with a Carestream Vue RIS do not need to purchase an electronic medical record to address meaningful use requirements, Carestream said. Radiologists, orthopedists, and other specialists who have met meaningful use requirements by October 1 can receive up to $44,000 per eligible provider in stimulus incentives, according to the firm.
