The U.S. Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has launched an interactive health IT dashboard that monitors the patterns of adoption and use of electronic health records. The dashboard simplifies access to information and the organization's research reports.
The ONC Health IT Dashboard has six different views presenting more than 250 custom dashboards for states, ONC programs, and grant recipients, according to project director Victor Lazzaro. The dashboard incorporates easy-to-read maps, charts, and downloadable tables that are designed to provide a more comprehensive and understandable way of learning about ONC activities. ONC has also developed an interactive video game designed to train healthcare professionals and staff working in provider offices. While the game targets physician practices and clinics that have not converted to electronic records, it offers useful reminders about good office practices relating to maintaining privacy and security.
