Healthcare information systems firm McKesson announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire MedVentive, a Waltham, MA-based developer of population and risk management software.
MedVentive serves health systems, multispecialty clinics, and provider-based payors, McKesson said. MedVentive's products will compliment McKesson's Enterprise Intelligence software suite designed to help healthcare organizations manage the quality, cost, and efficiency of providing patient care across settings and providers.
The McKesson and MedVentive products are also designed to enable providers to proactively manage the clinical health of at-risk patient populations by identifying gaps in patient care and delivering actionable information to physicians and care teams.
