The U.S. Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has posted a third wave of draft test procedures, applicable tools, and test data files for the 2014 edition of electronic health record (EHR) certification criteria mandated by the stage 2 final meaningful use rule.
The test procedures will be used by authorized testing laboratories and certification bodies to evaluate conformance and functionality of complete EHR software or EHR modules under the ONC HIT certification program. The test procedures are being developed in collaboration with the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology.
The draft procedures published on September 21 include a 22-page segment on proposed clinical decision-support criteria and a seven-page segment on proposed image results criteria.
ONC is accepting public comment about this third "wave" of draft test procedures through October 4. The guidelines can be accessed here.
