Radiologists who are starting to explore how to participate in the meaningful use initiative under way by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services should find this poster presentation helpful.
Dr. Adeel Siddiqui, a clinical fellow in neuroradiology at Johns Hopkins, will provide a brief description of how the program applies to radiology.
"Many factors should be considered in performing a cost-benefit analysis and developing a meaningful use strategy that is tailored specifically to a radiology practice," he explained.
A facility's volume of Medicare billing should be a major deciding factor in which approach to take. He'll also give some examples of when it may be justifiable for a practice to avoid meaningful use adoption.
