A group from Massachusetts General Hospital has developed software that provides a summary of positive report findings during dictation, allowing radiologists to create and verify their impression before finalizing the report.
The software program -- called RadPod, for "radiology at point of dictation" -- could help radiologists create more definitive and clear impressions, and it may save them from having to reread an entire report.
Dr. Supriya Gupta, a research fellow in imaging informatics, will discuss how the software is being used in the radiology department at Massachusetts General Hospital. She will also explain why the software developers believe that RadPod could influence dictation patterns and radiologist reading patterns.
