Medweb is introducing a trio of IT products designed to span communications gaps that previously isolated radiologists from staff and referring physicians. All three products will be highlighted at the 2012 RSNA meeting in Chicago.
Medweb Collage is designed to add a real-time, high-resolution imaging and video-sharing components to medical imaging practices. Its capabilities enhance the ways radiologists communicate with remote radiologic technologists and other medical professionals, according to the vendor.
The Web-based communications system can fully integrate live desktop video conferencing with ultrasound, fluoroscopy, or other streaming image data to allow radiologists to assist with remote procedures without their physical presence at the site.
Medweb Exchange enables healthcare enterprises and health information exchange communities to share, link, index, and audit clinical information with live links to legacy information systems. It indexes clinical documents and maintains a reference to where the data are store. In this way, the product creates a portal through which authorized, unreleated healthcare IT systems can share specific clinical data between enterprise in a HIPAA-compliant manner.
Physicians can view patient images on the desktop computers or mobile devices with the new Medweb Zero Footprint Viewer. It uses existing DICOM and Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) gateways to interface to existing DICOM devices or archives, either from Medweb or other manufacturers and suppliers.
It supports numerous Web browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices, including Android, iPad, iPhone, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Linux.
