Siemens tapped for Texas HIE conversion

Siemens Healthcare has won a contract to replace the existing health information exchange (HIE) network at a Texas medical center.

East Texas Medical Center Regional Healthcare System in Tyler has chosen Siemens MobileMD HIE to coordinate care among its 15 facilities and share data with a network of more than 1,000 physicians, according to the firm. Siemens MobileMD HIE replaces an already installed HIE, and the medical center plans to expand the network to more than 37 counties, 50 hospitals, and 3,000 physicians.
