GE Healthcare used this month's American College of Cardiology (ACC) meeting to launch a new software application designed to help interventional cardiologists monitor radiation dose when using GE's angiography systems for interventional applications.
Called DoseMap, the software is available on the company's Innova IGS 5x0 systems. The feature allows operators to view local cumulative patient dose levels during procedures, and enables them to change local dose delivery by modifying dose settings and/or gantry angulation when reaching given thresholds of a procedure. DoseMap is expected to enable interventionalists to avoid exceeding local dose thresholds, according to the company.
In addition to DoseMap, GE used the ACC show to introduce CV Web 3.0, Web-based software that helps physicians access their patients' cardiology records via a PC or iPad Web browser. Cardiologists can review multiple cardiology tests, including resting, exercise, and Holter electrocardiogram results delivered from GE's Muse cardiology information system, GE said.
GE also highlighted the Discovery CT750 HD Freedom Edition and Optima CT660 Freedom Edition CT scanners, both of which feature GE's Motion Freedom application with intelligent coronary motion correction.
