GE Healthcare has won a contract to install multiple products in its Centricity informatics software line at facilities run by the University of Nevada.
The University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM) will install GE's Centricity PACS-IW, Centricity Business, and Centricity Practice applications at multiple facilities it operates. As the only statewide public medical school in Nevada, UNSOM educates 250 medical students and 310 residents and fellows.
The GE applications will help UNSOM students and residents prepare for careers in medicine, in part by exposing them to the business functions found in the products, GE said. Installation of the Centricity applications will begin in mid-2013.
