QPID expands its executive team

Data search software developer QPID announced it has expanded its executive team to include vice presidents of engineering and sales.

Gary Zakon has been named vice president of engineering, QPID said. He previously was chief technology officer at OpenPages.

Caroline Smyth has been named vice president of sales. She previously headed business development for Philips Visicu, according to the firm.

QPID also announced that it successfully raised $4 million from venture capital firms, including the Partners Innovation Fund and Massachusetts General Physicians Organization.
