Radiology benefits management firm HealthHelp has unveiled MedTree QDS, a clinical decision-support system.
Using MedTree QDS, providers can access HealthHelp's Consult program for radiology, cardiology, radiation therapy, and oncology benefits management via a Web or tablet interface, and receive approval for most decisions in less than one minute, according to the company. MedTree QDS covers more than 400 conditions and can be used 24 hours a day, seven days a week, HealthHelp said.
The software provides up-to-the-minute, evidence-based appropriateness ratings for chosen imaging tests or treatment plans, as well as additional information related to procedures, including cost and percent utilization for stated indications, HealthHelp said.
If the system gives a test or treatment plan a low rating, it displays comparisons to local and national averages and offers more suitable options; providers can then provide justification for orders of borderline appropriateness online, or request live peer-to-peer consultation with an academically affiliated subspecialist, the firm said.
