Speech recognition technology developer M*Modal has appointed Duncan James as CEO and Graham King as chairman.
James comes to M*Modal after serving as president and CEO of QuadraMed. Prior to his stint at that vendor, James was a group president at McKesson for nearly a decade, according to M*Modal. He replaces Vern Davenport, who has chosen to leave the company.
King is a longtime healthcare industry executive and strategic consultant and was formerly the head of Shared Medical Systems (now part of Siemens Healthcare) and HBO & Co. (now part of McKesson).
In related news, M*Modal has appointed chief financial officer (CFO) Ron Scarboro as chief operating officer. He replaces Amy Amick, who has elected to leave the firm. Current vice president of finance David Woodworth has been tapped as acting CFO.
