Advanced Data Systems (ADS) has updated its MedicsConnect radiology report transmission software.
MedicsConnect is now available to facilities outside the ADS installed base for integration into their existing RIS software. Previously, MedicsConnect was only available for sites using the company's MedicsRIS application.
MedicsConnect eliminates the need to implement multiple customized HL7 interfaces, working from within a practice's RIS to transmit reports over the Internet using secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) to ensure data safety. Referring physicians can configure their electronic medical record (EMR) software to automatically download the data to the appropriate patient file.
MedicsConnect was first launched at the RSNA 2012 meeting as a module for the MedicsRIS application.
