Clinical decision-support software developer MedCurrent has signed a deal with a New Jersey facility.
AtlantiCare in southeastern New Jersey has chosen MedCurrent's OrderRight radiology decision-support system, which is integrated within a PowerChart module of the Millennium electronic medical record (EMR) system from Cerner.
The system incorporates the ACR Select appropriateness criteria in its baseline format, along with the company's Rule Authoring Studio, which provides administrative tools that allow each provider organization to modify and customize the appropriateness rules to meet local needs and standards of practice. This allows new rules and criteria to be created and clinically tested for consideration before being added into the system's rule set, MedCurrent said.
