HIMSS Analytics has published the spring 2014 edition of its Essentials of the U.S. Hospital IT Market report.
After profiling 26 operational health IT applications being used in hospitals across the U.S. and conducting a matrix analysis of their market penetration against their projected sales volumes, HIMSS Analytics identified bed management, enterprise resource planning, and financial modeling technologies as the three highest growth opportunities for health IT vendors.
In addition, the report concluded that the sales outlook is also positive for two applications (contract management and financial data warehousing/mining) in the financial decision-support category.
The six categories included in the report were business intelligence, financial decision support, general financials, human resources, revenue cycle management, and supply chain management.
