Healthcare information systems firm McKesson has inked a contract with Desert Valley Radiology, a physician-owned private practice with six locations in the Phoenix area.
McKesson will provide the practice with revenue cycle management services, including coding, billing, claims submission, denial management, and financial reporting. It will also help Desert Valley meet the physician reporting requirements of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS), as well as prepare for the ICD-10 coding system transition in October 2015.
McKesson Technology Solutions also announced that it has appointed Erkan Akyuz as president of its medical imaging business, Imaging and Workflow Solutions. Akyuz recently served as president and CEO of advanced visualization firm Vital Images and as executive vice president and chief technology officer of Agfa HealthCare's imaging informatics business.
