GE Healthcare and workflow management software developer Real Time Medical have formed a strategic partnership in the pathology market.
Under the agreement, GE will offer Real Time Medical's DiaShare workflow management platform along with the Omnyx IDP pathology scanner and software package developed via a GE joint venture with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The combination of DiaShare and Omnyx IDP will allow pathologists to be connected in real-time through a workflow that automatically alerts colleagues to new cases for review, tracks progress, and allows pathologists to report results, according to the firms.
In other Real Time Medical news, the firm said it received an order for its DiaShare Quality diagnostic imaging peer-review software from the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Scheduled to be installed by this summer, DiaShare Quality will serve as the hospital's radiology quality assurance program, Real Time Medical said.
