GE Healthcare has made the first installation of new business operations and analytics software for cardiac catheterization labs.
GE installed its Cath Lab Efficiency Manager at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, MO. The software helps interventional labs analyze data they can use to identify areas of improvement, according to the company.
The Cath Lab Efficiency Manager provides a near-real-time dashboard that measures inefficiency, and it can help visualize where operational changes can be made to increase productivity and improve patient care. It can record stamped procedure logs, staffing and medication information, access type, complication and risk factor details, radiation dose area, and fluoro time data in the system.
As the first installation of the software, Saint Luke's will provide feedback to GE to improve the software's functionality and make it available to the broader healthcare community, the company said.
