Seeking to help the musculoskeletal section determine the effect of secondary interpretations performed on external imaging studies, Dr. Asheesh Harsha developed MOI-RADS, an automated quality assurance (QA) tool.
Using structured reporting, Harsha introduced a macro for these studies that indicated concordance or discordance with the first interpretation, according to senior author Dr. Tessa Cook, PhD.
"He also reviewed the electronic medical record to determine if the discrepancies identified were clinically significant," Cook said. "This provided feedback to the radiologists who performed the secondary interpretations and validates the role of our radiology department in performing these secondary reviews."
