A Japanese group will describe a Web-based image evaluation application for an institutional certification system being established in Japan for low-dose CT lung cancer screening.
The Accreditation Council for Lung Cancer CT Screening in Japan is establishing a certification system for institutions offering low-dose CT lung cancer screening. To receive certification, institutions will be able to use a Web-based image evaluation function, called a combined application dose index (CADI) system, for quantitative assessment of radiation dose and image quality, according to presenter Yoshihisa Muramatsu, PhD, of the National Cancer Center Hospital East.
"The CADI system will be able to allow standardization of CT screening, and will be useful for certification," Muramatsu told AuntMinnie.com.
