Carestream Health said it was awarded 61 new patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and an additional 64 patents in European and Asian countries in 2015.
The patents relate to Carestream developments in areas including radiography, conebeam CT, healthcare IT, and dental imaging, according to the vendor. For example, the latest patents include new image capture technologies related to the development of conebeam CT systems designed for orthopedic extremity imaging, Carestream said.
The company also garnered patents for enhancements in its portfolio of healthcare IT systems for managing, storing, and sharing patient data and medical imaging exams, Carestream said. In addition, Carestream has received patents for technology in its portfolio of radiology systems and for developments in imagers and media for printing digital x-ray exams on medical film and paper.
