Carestream Health said it received 43 new patents in 2016 from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for technology it developed in radiography, conebeam CT imaging, healthcare IT, dental imaging, and other areas.
The firm also said it received 52 additional patents in European and Asian countries last year. The patents included new medical image capture technologies related to the development of conebeam CT systems designed for orthopedic extremity imaging, as well as enhancements to its healthcare IT systems portfolio for managing, storing, and sharing patient data and medical imaging studies, according to the vendor.
In addition, Carestream said it received patents for technology advances in radiology systems and for developments in its laser imagers for outputting digital x-ray exams on medical film and paper. The company also landed patents for new features in dental imaging, dental image processing and software, and dental restoration systems.
