Radiation oncology firm Varian Medical Systems has completed its acquisition of oncology software developer Noona Healthcare.
Noona's cloud-based mobile software app allows clinicians to capture real-time patient-reported outcomes. It also enables them to communicate directly with patients as clinicians monitor and manage patient symptoms.
Varian plans to combine the patient user interface of Noona's software with its 360 Oncology care management platform. Uniting the technologies would support patient-clinician engagement throughout the treatment and recovery process, and it may help oncologists detect early signs of potential cancer recurrence, Varian said.
