Research informatics company Flywheel and Google Cloud have developed an imaging informatics platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) tools to facilitate medical imaging research.
The imaging informatics platform incorporates Google Cloud's BigQuery, an enterprise warehouse for data analytics and building machine-learning models, as well as its Cloud AutoML, a computer program for training machine-learning models.
The new multimodality research platform will include features such as intuitive visual search, metadata management, and elastic compute scaling, which will enable researchers to leverage their imaging data for machine-learning applications, according to the companies.
Flywheel is demonstrating the technology at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual meeting in Orlando, FL.
