Healthcare information systems vendor Change Healthcare has unveiled Charge Capture Advisor, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based software application that's designed to identify potentially missing charges before claims are submitted.
Charge Capture Advisor works with health information systems, coding, billing, and manual processes, according to the vendor. Users can accept the AI's predicted charges if appropriate documentation is available, dismiss a predicted charge, or place a predicted charge on hold until research and review of relevant documentation can be completed, Change said.
In addition, managers can access real-time charge capture trends, such as the number of missing charges and the estimated value of charges. This allows for continuous review and analysis -- facilitating improvements to charge rules, according to Change. Available now, Charge Capture Advisor is part of Change's Revenue Integrity product suite.
