Healthcare information technology giant Cerner has hired Dr. David Feinberg to lead the company as president and CEO. Feinberg previously was leading Google's Google Health initiative.
As CEO, Feinberg is replacing Brent Shafer, Cerner's previous CEO and chairman, who is transitioning out of the roles. Cerner's current president, Donald Trigg, is leaving the company, and William Zollars will take over as chairman.
Feinberg has had a 25-year career in healthcare and has led Google Health since 2019. Published reports indicate that Google intends to shut down the division as an independent unit with Feinberg's departure.
Prior to Google, Feinberg was president and CEO of health system Geisinger Health.
