Ultrasound vendor Biosound Esaote will showcase BioPACS, an ultrasound archiving, retrieving, and reviewing software package at next month's American Society of Echocardiography meeting in Orlando. BioPACS allows ultrasound data to be transferred immediately through a network connection to a PC workstation with DICOM compatibility, according to the Indianapolis, IN-based vendor.
The BioPACS database allows users to search multiple records simultaneously for comparative analysis and to generate comprehensive reports. It can be used with any DICOM-compatible ultrasound system and a single PC workstation, according to Biosound Esaote. The vendor said that BioPACS can also be expanded to support multiple ultrasound systems and PC workstations, as well as a network server and backup and archiving devices.
