Agfa reports large European PACS projects

Agfa HealthCare will be installing its Impax PACS network at Liestal Hospital, a 400-bed hospital near Basel, Switzerland. The Mortsel, Belgium-based vendor will install the order, valued by Agfa at approximately $990,000 (U.S.), by the end of 2002.

In other customer news, Agfa said that it has installed an infrared-based teleradiology system for the University Hospital of Tromsø in Tromsø, Norway. With the new system, eight radiologists can now review their worklists directly from home, Agfa said. The service, which employs an infrared antenna and a dish-based fixed link, builds on the University Hospital's existing Impax network, according to Agfa.
