Dictaphone lands contract from Carilion

Dictaphone has received a contract for its PowerScribe speech recognition offering from Carilion Health System in Roanoke, VA. The contract covers installation of PowerScribe at Carilion's Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke Community Hospital, and New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, VA.

The system will launch initially with 22 radiologists trained to use the system, and the contract calls for full rollout across 43 physician workstations, Dictaphone said. With the installation, PowerScribe has been integrated with Agfa HealthCare's Impax PACS network and Siemens Medical Solutions' Radiology Management System, according to Stratford, CT-based Dictaphone.
