Swedish PACS firm Sectra reported 2002/2003 fiscal first-quarter sales of $15.1 million (U.S.), up 183% compared with the $5.3 million posted in the same period last year. For the quarter (end-July), the Linkoping-based firm had profit before tax of $2.1 million, compared with profit before tax of $223,000 last year.
Sectra president and CEO Jan-Olof BrĂ¼er attributed the sales and earnings growth to completed installations of several digital radiology systems. Sales in Sectra's main business units -- medical information technology and secure communication-- both performed well, according to the company.
