eDictation lands NIH grant

Structured-reporting developer eDictation has received a $750,000 phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Institutes of Health's National Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). The grant was provided to support eDictation's work in developing and benchmarking radiology reporting software, according to the Marlton, NJ-based vendor.

eDictation president Dr. Curt Langlotz said the company would use the funds to develop real-time decision-support prompts for radiologists, validate the practice-management features of its structured reporting database, and further enhance the core eDictation reporting system. Along with previous grants from the National Library of Medicine and the state of New Jersey, eDictation has received over $1 million in grant support.
