Information systems provider Cerner reported record third-quarter revenues of $190.3 million, up 36% compared with the $139.9 million posted in the same period in 2001. For the quarter (end-September 28), the Kansas City-based firm had net earnings of $13.8 million, compared with net earnings of $9.2 million in the third quarter of 2001.
For the year to date, Cerner had revenues of $546.2 million, up 40% from $390.7 million in 2001. The vendor had net earnings (before nonrecurring items) of $36.1 million, an increase of 56% compared with $23.2 million at this point in 2001.
Looking ahead, the information systems vendor said it is comfortable with analysts’ revenue estimates between $870 million and $880 million, up from a prior range of $850 million to $870 million.
