Sun will unveil its StorageTek HoneyComb storage system, a scalable archive that supports up to 1,000 TB of storage.
HoneyComb allows applications such as PACS to be more efficiently deployed by leveraging computing resources inside the storage environment, according to the Santa Clara, CA-based vendor. It can scale to handle 8-1,000 TB of disk capacity.
HoneyComb can be integrated with a PACS network on a turnkey basis, and includes features such as an extensible metadata schema capable of supporting DICOM or other schema, as well as automated capacity balancing across disks, Sun said. Performance also scales with capacity, according to the firm.
HoneyComb will also be shown in the booth of Eastman Kodak Health Group of Rochester, NY, booth as part of that company's Enterprise Information Management (EIM) service, Sun said.
