Monitor distributor Double Black Imaging has released its X-Cal calibration software, an application for automatic DICOM calibration and display quality assurance.
X-Cal consists of two components, a local agent package and a network administrative package. It features automatic calibration and conformance tests, graphical results, TG-18 visual test capabilities, table-formatted reporting of data for future use, automatic calibration scheduling, compensation of ambient light allowance, luminance adjustment, and other workstation settings. In addition, users may view and save historical data on white level, black level, calibration, and conformance testing.
The X-Cal software, paired with the Westminster, CO-based firm's displays, allows each display to be remotely calibrated to the DICOM grayscale display function and monitored from a central workstation. Users can send notifications to the central workstation or administrator when the LCD requires service, enabling administrators to adjust and perform DICOM 3.14 calibration on each LCD from remote locations, according to the company.
