Data Distributing will add the DICOM CD Station and CD Wipeout CD destruction device to its portfolio.
CD Station combines application software with a CD/DVD disk publishing system from Rimage of Minneapolis, offering imaging centers and hospitals a means to distribute patient images, according to the Laguna Hills, CA-based firm. Patient disks are automatically and indelibly printed with all appropriate patient data, including name, ID, Social Security number, and physician.
CD Station is scalable, modular, and is shipping now, according to the firm.
CD Wipeout allows hospitals and imaging centers to properly destroy CDs that were burned with patient data, according to the firm. It employs a grinding technology to remove the indelible print, while simultaneously destroying the data layer that resides just under the top surface of the disk, Data Distributing said.
CD Wipeout is currently shipping and has a MSRP of $1,900.
