Merge eMed will direct attention to its ImageCD and Enterprise Web offerings.

ImageCD allows for distribution of studies on a CD/DVD that can be viewed on any PC, according to the Milwaukee-based firm. Image CD features include the ability to add reports to the CD/DVD, select studies to burn at the series level, and create CDs/DVDs from any network client, Merge eMed said.

It also includes automated CD/DVD labeling with high-quality graphics, the firm said. Once the selection is made, CD/DVDs are taken from the input bin, placed in one of two burners, moved to the label printer, then placed in the output bin.

Merge eMed is also featuring its Enterprise Web software, which provides hospital departments, on-call radiologists, and referring physician practices with access to images and results. Enterprise Web can be set up to use both the local area network (LAN) and the Internet, according to the company.

Enterprise Web offers viewing capabilities such as extended layouts, image calibration tools, region-of-interest measurements, and additional viewing preference options, Merge eMed said. First Impression templates allow the user to define standard templates for first impression reports and copy a template into a first impression report.

Merge has also incorporated support for various compression algorithms, including JPEG 2000; a user interface design maximizes viewing area with access to image manipulation tools, according to the vendor. Other features include role-based access and the ability to pass key images and notes between administrative tools and Merge eMed's Matrix PACS network and Enterprise Web.
