North American Imaging

Several new products and upgrades are on tap for North American Imaging (NAI) at this year's RSNA show.

NAI will release version 4.0 of its MDR Video offering, adding DICOM store service class user (SCU) output and modality worklist support, according to the Auburn, CA-based firm.

In addition, images can now be sent to two different archive destinations on the network, and users can control how the various storage options are used, NAI said. MDR Video users can also use a keyboard for manual patient data entry, or employ optical character recognition to read patient data directly off the screen.

MDR Video's Media Manager tool can also duplicate media copies of any previous session, and expansion of the Exam Manager tool provides access to all patient records on MDR's internal hard disk. The 4.0 upgrade is available at no cost to existing customers.

In developments with its DiCOM box connectivity line, NAI has added a touch-screen LCD interface upgrade. The new operator console interface replaces the existing keypad control and provides buttons for controlling all DiCOM box functions, NAI said. It also allows for enhanced worklist display and additional data fields provided by the worklist server or broker.

NAI recently delivered its 10,000th DiCOM box, and released version 6.10 of the software. New features include enhanced cine capture capabilities for dynamic imaging applications, and additional video-capture features such as interlaced video motion artifact filtering.

In other product news, NAI will unveil PACS Print Server, an enterprise print server offering that allows department managers to administer documentation needs from any PC, NAI said. The software application manages hard-copy preferences using existing DICOM laser cameras and network paper printers without requiring any workflow changes, according to the firm.
