TDK will focus on its DMC-2000 DICOM media creator.
A network-attached appliance, DMC-2000 provides on-demand DICOM-compliant CD and DVD creation from any browser-equipped PC on the hospital network, according to TDK of Mt. Prospect, IL. DMC-2000 includes an integrated CPU and can also import data from CDs and DVDs.
The unit features a custom robotic system with a CD recorder, a thermal disk printer, and an optional DVD recording drive. Other features include a browser-based interface, labeling options, and the ability to include diagnostic reports and non-DICOM data on the CD or DVD, TDK said. Multiple viewers are available on DMC-2000, as is automatic disk creation and scheduling.
All CD/DVD creation activity is recorded in log files that can be queried later using search tools, according to the firm. A shelf management feature aids in locating the media containing previously archived studies, TDK said.
