Workflow grid computing facilitates enterprise-wide information storage and retrieval, according to the Rochester, NY-based vendor. It increases the availability and redundancy of a multisite system, and provides efficient management of distributed storage systems and delivery of archived data to any review location, Carestream said.
Synchronized global worklist and reporting are provided to all sites, although each site can operate independently of the network or centralized server when necessary, according to Carestream. The company said it provides business continuity services by providing access from a secondary data center if the primary data center experiences equipment failure or a natural disaster. Storage resources can also be shared.
