(Booth 8551) Look for NightHawk Radiology of Coeur d'Alene, ID, to showcase its Talon Workflow Technologies software, as well as IT and quality control services for radiology groups.
Until now, the company used Talon software solely for internal distribution of images to appropriate physicians based on subspecialty, availability, and location, but now the firm is offering Talon as a standalone product.
With its July 2007 acquisition of Midwest Physician Services, the business services division of St. Paul Radiology, NightHawk added back-office functions to its portfolio of services. Revenue cycle, accounting, financial, transcription, and records management functions are now available for use by the company's client base.
In the second quarter of 2007, the company initiated daytime teleradiology services for onsite radiologists who need help during daytime hours if they are short-staffed due to absence or vacation, or their workload becomes unusually heavy. NightHawk estimates that 8% to 9% of its business will come from daytime final reads this year.
NightHawk serves approximately 800 facilities across the U.S., and expects to handle close to 3 million procedures this year among the company's 120 or so radiologists.
