(Booth 7021) ODS Medical will unveil its PACScomm Ultra image storage and distribution system at this year's RSNA show in Chicago.

PACScomm Ultra combines an online archive appliance and CD distribution system with up to 10 TB of offline archive capability, according to the Columbia, MD-based firm. The system can receive or push DICOM images from an unlimited number of networked modalities using integrated Blu-Ray disk technology or CD/DVD capability, ODS said. Scalable redundant array of inexpensive disks (RAID) storage can meet current and future needs, the company said.

Other PACScomm Ultra features include dual burners, an embedded PC, 2 x 50 media capacity, a color ink-jet printer, Primera XRP robotics, and an archive that automatically stages and stores studies on DVD or RAID, ODS said. Its Web-based software supports database queries by various DICOM attributes.

PACScomm Ultra also includes features to assist with HIPAA compliance, including password and permissions security, as well as a patient activity log, according to the firm.
