In other current topics, we turn again to the applicability of handheld devices for radiology applications. A study team from University College Dublin in Ireland recently found that devices such as the iPod Touch may be usable for reviewing images in emergency radiology consultations.
Also, allowing radiologists access to computer-aided detection technology directly on their PACS workstation software can increase the number of lung nodules detected on low-dose CT screening exams, according to research from New York University Langone Medical Center in New York City.
