NDS debuts wireless video for surgical suite

Display firm NDS Surgical Imaging has introduced ZeroWire, a medical-grade wireless video system designed for minimally invasive surgery and gastrointestinal and interventional suites.

ZeroWire provides full high-definition video with a latency of less than one frame for real-time surgical video, and can interface to a wide range of image sources and surgical monitors in the operating room, NDS said.

ZeroWire will be first launched in the European Union in a three-channel configuration that allows up to three ZeroWire wireless video systems to function in the same operating room, according to the San Jose, CA-based firm.

The company plans to launch ZeroWire in the U.S. and Asia-Pacific regions in the coming months.
