Hitachi Data Systems has launched its Hitachi Clinical Repository (HCR) at this week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) meeting in Orlando, FL.
HCR creates a metadata repository for raw medical data and images based on any information system, according to the wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi of Tokyo. It consolidates all patient data, standardizes formats across disparate applications, and then provides this data to electronic health records (EHRs) and portals in a single, unified view, Hitachi said.
This data can then be mined intelligently and distributed centrally and securely, according to the firm.
HCR makes use of Hitachi storage technologies such as Hitachi Content Platform (HCP); Hitachi NAS Platform (HNAS), powered by BlueArc; and Hitachi Data Discovery Suite (HDDS). It has been installed at Klinikum Wels-Grieskirchen, a large hospital in Austria.
