Image display firm Barco has introduced an upgraded version of its ProScribe mobile point-of-care tablet PC.
The new ProScribe version, labeled MTPP-0212, features 60% more processing power, 100% more internal memory, and the latest Windows operating system, according to Barco. It's now equipped with a 1.6-GHz processor, 1 GB of internal RAM, and a series of options such as up to 16 GB of compact flash memory and 32 GB of solid-state memory.
The new ProScribe also offers features such as an optional radiofrequency identification (RFID) reader, a built-in barcode scanner, and an integrated digital camera for photographic and video documentation. The tablet can also be outfitted with a 3G wireless module.
