RIS and PACS vendor Brit Systems has debuted RoentgenWorks ASP, an application service provider (ASP)-based service for managing and distributing imaging data.
Based on Brit's browser-based platform, RoentgenWorks ASP is available at different service levels to fit the varying needs of radiology group practices, imaging centers, and hospitals, according to the vendor. The service utilizes redundant and secure Roentgen Works servers hosted at Brit's data center, which also supports iPad viewers for physicians, Brit said.

The new version features the introduction of the 64-bit Ubuntu operating system, performance and speed enhancements, seamless interoperability with Brit's Roentgen Works workflow tools, and improved comparison tools for hanging protocols, Brit said.
Users can also run speech recognition and viewing applications on a single platform, according to the company.
