Imaging informatics firm Viztek will present several upgrades to its Opal-Rad PACS software at the upcoming RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago.
Viztek has incorporated a new zero-footprint DICOM viewer, which will allow for image viewing on any PC or Apple computer, according to the vendor. It's accessible over any Internet connection and provides support for most popular browsers, Viztek said.
In PET/CT viewing upgrades, Viztek has added features such as multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) and rotational maximum intensity projection (MIP), a triangulation display, series synchronization, and 3D point location.
A new Turn-Around-Time feature employs a color-based system to notify radiologists of the remaining time before a scheduled reading must be completed. After users input timing parameters for each facility, worklists are populated and prioritized automatically, Viztek said.
In mammography developments, Viztek has produced Comprehensive Priors Logic, a tool that allows users to toggle through multiple levels of mammography priors in sequential order. A new Cardiology Clinic module facilitates viewing of dynamic ultrasound video clips and provides automatic access to cardiac measurements; integrated report generation is also supported, Viztek said.
Viztek has also developed a patient-level document scanning feature, which allows documents to be scanned from any location and uploaded to Opal-Rad.
