Carestream Health has received a clearance letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use of its Vue Motion image viewer with mobile devices such as Apple's iPad.
Already being used with mobile devices in other countries worldwide, Vue Motion is a zero-footprint viewer that can be integrated with other vendors' PACS offerings and DICOM archives, or with Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS)-compliant repositories, according to the vendor.
Vue Motion can also be embedded in an HIS or electronic medical record portal to allow authorized users across the enterprise to view patient data and images with a single log-in, Carestream said.
