Teleradiology services provider USARad.com has launched a beta version of XMRI.com, a radiology interpretation and second-opinion service targeted at consumers.
The patent-pending automated portal will allow patients, radiologists, other physicians, medical facilities, and legal or insurance professionals to upload their images and receive reports within hours or minutes, according to the company. Pricing will be low as $29 per report, USARad.com said.
The system utilizes a cloud-based technology platform developed in partnership with Dicom Systems, and the firms have filed a joint patent for the technology with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
